Build your own digital solutions: Scratch & Makey Makey

Build your own digital solution and integrate it into any unit. Learn to code using drag and drop coding blocks. Scratch is a great way for students in years 3-6 to explore the fundamentals of coding and build their own digital solutions including computer games, animations, interactive stories, music, and art. Makey Makey is an invention kit that integrates easily with Scratch to create your own hardware as part of a digital solution.

Build your own digital solution: Python & Micro:bit

Build your own digital solution and integrate it into any unit. Python is a high-level, general-purpose computer programming language. It has been used in many popular applications: YouTube, Google, Instagram, and Spotify. Learning to code with Python is a great place to start for any beginner. We will learn fundamentals and build a quiz game and text adventure game. We will explore Micro:bits, a tiny programmable computer with built in LEDs and accelerometer, and build prototype digital solutions. Projects built with Python and/or Micro:bits suit students in years 7-10. Micro:bit kits will be provided for use.
