EXPLORATION + CREATIVITY
Focus is on play and exploration, not work. Children are engaged because coding unleashes imagination.
CREATE GAMES YOU CAN PLAY
Coding Kids has tangible results from day one. Children can share their games and creations with friends and family.
Our tutors are passionate about coding and excited to share their knowledge with the next generation. They are fully trained and hold blue cards.
Summary of Classes
codeBuilder courses are for 7-11 year old creators and innovators. Learn to code using drag and drop coding blocks. Learn the fundamentals of computational thinking, problem solving, graphic design, animation production and more.
Drag and drop blocks allow you to learn to code without the barrier due to typing skills and syntax. Start early in becoming a creator of technology and not just a consumer.
Hackafun courses are for 10-15 year old creators and innovators. Learn to code with text based languages, build electronics and rapid prototype solutions to community problems.
Learn to code with Python, a text-based language. Python is a simple, readable, general-purpose programming language that is great to use for beginners. You will use Python to build animations, computer games, and program development boards.
Build on your tech skills and learn how to innovate by applying the design thinking process. Create your own digital solution to a community problem. Make a rapid prototype, seek user feedback on your product and iterate your design. Use your skills in coding, circuitry, 3D design and printing, arts and crafts and creativity to invent and innovate. Explore marketing, distribution and business operations. Pitch your new product to the audience.
"Emily worked closely with us to tailor a 6-week course that introduced students to coding with Scratch and utilised Makey Makey’s so they learnt how to integrate hardware and software. The feedback from parents, children and teachers was always very positive, and we now offer an Intermediate course as well, where the students work in teams to solve a problem using coding and hardware."

"Mr B has been counting down the days until his first coding class. We wanted to let you know that he loved it! He felt he learned so much and is delighted that he now knows how to create characters and move them. The teacher was excellent. Mr B said she was happy, patient and kind.
Thank you for coming to St Catherine’s. We couldn’t be happier with Coding Kids and look forward to learning with you."
"The most special moment so far since beginning coding with Coding Kids was when Mr B made me a Mother's Day card at his coding lesson. He was so excited about what he had done. He was so excited in fact, that he also made one for his grandmother and his aunty as well. It is now a tradition for him to make a new one for each family member’s birthday.
Mr B has dyslexia and school can be tricky. Coding has given him self-confidence and a sense of purpose. His teacher comes to him now for help with technology issues in the classroom and he loves helping his friends. Coding lessons are the highlight of Mr B's week."
“Making the games was the best part. I liked choosing and coding the sprites to do different things. The teachers were lovely too. I also liked testing the games. I learnt things doing that.”
Zac, 10 years old.
"I liked the cool projects that the tutors came up with and the challenges."
Stella, 10 years old
"I think Coding is good for me because it makes me think and solve problems. And I get to play on the computer without my mum telling me to get off."
Bob, 11 years old.
