Show your kids the future at World Science Festival
What kind of jobs will we see in the future? What’s on the horizon for our children? To answer those questions, Coding Kids is bringing our HackaFun workshop to the World Science Festival! Full of games and challenges for all ages, HackaFun is a fun way to give the next generation a headstart to the world of programming and engineering.
Sometimes the rapid pace of the modern world can feel overwhelming, and it can be hard to keep up. As a result we can only imagine what jobs will be available for our kids come 2050. However, we do know that the skills of programming and engineering will be integral to the next thirty years.
The World Science Festival looks at how far we’ve come whilst looking forward to answer the eternal question of what the future has in store for us. Coding Kids will be on the ground contributing to this exciting event by introducing kids to the careers of the future.
What Is Hackafun?
Our Hackafun program, we look at the future from a jobs perspective. Based on our holiday camps, fun challenges help kids take the first steps in programming and engineering. We have three separate challenges, each focused on a different career path:
- Programming robots – this is an introduction to software engineering, which helps us control and improve technology
- Building prototypes – this is the core part of inventing and engineering new products, in short, turning ideas into reality
- Building circuits – the beginning of electrical engineering, which is how we make things work efficiently and effectively
The projects are suitable for both beginners and advanced kids with a focus on fun and learning. We’ll also be there to answer any questions about what the jobs of the future may look like.
The World Science Festival is a fascinating, educational week and we’re so excited to introduce your kids to the careers of the future. We’re part of the free ‘Street Science!’ event so come on down to Cultural Forecourt in South Bank Parklands on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March 2018 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. We’ll be at the Hackafun booth and we can’t wait to meet you and your little ones.
