Since 2001, the rate of women enrolling in IT-centric degrees in Australia has dropped from 1 in 4 to 1 in 10. This comes as a contrast to the many women leading major tech companies like Google, Microsoft, Twitter and Telstra, showing that women are capable of achieving great IT success.

In the classroom

A crucial step in fixing the gender gap in IT jobs is through fun and engaging computer based education in schools, specifically that of coding. However, only 1 in 4 students enrolled in Coding Kids is female.
